Portrait of a non binary person looking at camera while posing outdoors.

18-year-old Steve was referred to CARA following a domestic abuse incident involving his mum.

During the workshops, Steve explored the family dynamics that might have led to the incident and engaged well with the discussions. He is currently staying at his aunt’s following the breakdown of his relationship with his mum.

Steve has been signposted to Youth Maps, who are helping him with housing. He says that he believes not going back to live with his mum will improve their relationship going forward. Steve is also being supported by his GP in getting medication and therapy for ADHD.
