Comissioning CARA
  • PCC/MOPAC/police contact Hampton Trust to demonstrate an interest in CARA and receive the CARA Commissioning Framework
  • PCC/MOPAC/police commission contract with a local organisation for the provision of CARA intervention. PCC/MOPAC/police issue grant agreement to Hampton Trust for mobilisation and licence activities.
  • Hampton Trust supplies handbooks to the police force and local commissioned organisation
CARA Mobilisation
  • Police, commissioned organisation and Hampton Trust develop a mobilisation timeline, drawing on material in the handbooks
  • Commissioned organisation recruits an agreed number of facilitators
  • Hampton Trust provides training to facilitators using CARA materials
  • Police and commissioned organisation develop bespoke process map and guidance for respective teams, confirming offender pathway
  • Commissioned organisation carries out initial delivery of CARA, supported by Hampton Trust with initial supervision activities
Local CARA Delivery

  • Most common offer is for male group cohorts.
  • Additional provision can be for female cohorts, and 1:1 CARA Telephone Intervention for referrals unable to attend group (language barriers, learning disabilities, etc.).
  • Additional provision will need to be considered in budget and procurement.
